Youth caregivers are everywhere — but rarely counted! Take our 1 minute survey and to make youth caregivers visible.

Youth Caregiver Self-Check
This is not a test. It is simply a way to reflect on the responsibilities you may be carrying
.
-
Do you regularly help a family member because they are sick, aging, or have a disability?
-
Do you feel responsible for managing medications, appointments, or daily tasks for someone?
-
Do your caregiving responsibilities affect your school attendance or focus?
-
Do you feel stressed or overwhelmed because of family health responsibilities?
-
Do you miss activities or time with friends due to caregiving?
-
Do you worry about what would happen if you were not there to help?

If you answered 'yes' to one or more of these questions, you may be a youth caregiver. You deserve support.
“I thought I was the only one doing this.”
— 16-year-old sibling caregiver

What Youth Are Saying
“What I enjoy most about the program is that it makes me feel like the care that I give is appreciated. I like that we have talk sessions about what we do because I don’t feel so alone. The trips make me realize how much I have in common with other caregivers. We spend time together realizing we are there for each other.”
— Viany P., Youth Caregiver
What School Leaders Are Saying
“This program provides a service that is truly needed in support of children taking on the role of caregivers while trying to keep up with schoolwork and social activities. Students look forward to the monthly support groups and trips. These services would be of value to students throughout the educational system.”
— Brandon Muccino, Principal, PS 83 The Donald Hertz School
